AL BANDAR, ABU DHABI
Thursday, October 23, 2014After exploring Masdar City, we headed to the nearby Al Bandar community to have coffee and enjoy the scenery of an overlooking marina. If you are the type of person who loves beaches, just like my husband, then most likely, you will find yourself in love with this place. There are several restaurants and cafes here which maximizes the marina giving you a beautiful and relaxing view.
Al Bandar is actually a reclaimed land. Here in the UAE, land reclamation is very common, thus creating world famous infrastructures and tourist destinations like Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, and many more. Aside from commercial purposes, this man-made island is also a popular residential area among expats, especially Westerners.
Indeed, this place is beautiful. As a matter of fact, my husband mentioned that he would love to live in such peaceful place. However, unlike him, I'm scared with any type of body of water so I would prefer to live away from it. I don't know why, but I feel stressed to be with the ocean. So for now, we'll just stay in the city (away from the waters) and just visit places like this from time to time (to please Ronnie). That's compromise!

ReplyDeleteYes, Sherlane. Abu Dhabi is really a beautiful place. If in case you will be having a vacation here, give me a buzz so I can show you around.
DeleteBeautiful! I've always admired the architects and engineers in UAE who are behind the reclaimed areas and their projects. Galing!

DeleteI saw Abu Dhabi in one of Kris TV episodes, ang dami pala pwede puntahan. I don't want to live near body of water too. :)

ReplyDeleteThat are looks great! I'm more like your hubby. I'm such a water baby. My dream house is actually a beach house. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janice! Beaches really look beautiful from afar but it freaks me out to see its water up close. I'm scared of open waters. Maybe because I don't know how to swim. Hehe :))
